The University of Debrecen has signed a research, innovation and technology cooperation agreement with China's leading higher education institution, Tsinghua University. The partnership between the two institutions covers the fields of medicine, therapeutic procedures, drug and food development, and artificial intelligence-based research and development, among others. The document recording this was signed by the parties at the University of Debrecen.

The Türk Sarok offers a special meeting point for students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and for those interested in the region.

PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans with radioactively labeled glucose are essential in the diagnosis of patients with tumors and in the exact determination of their therapy. The first PET examination in Hungary was conducted in Debrecen in 1994. Since then, the University of Debrecen has played an important part in launching all PET testing sites in our country, either by transferring knowledge or by providing human resources.
The number of foreign students at the University of Debrecen has increased by five percent, while the number of foreign students studying at the University of Debrecen has increased by fifteen percent. In the 2024/2025 academic year, 2,100 students started their studies on UD's English-language courses, making the institution's international community larger than ever, with more than 7,600 students.

Representatives of the Monitoring Committee of the Council of Europe have met and held discussions with the Board of Trustees of Count István Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen, responsible for maintaining our institution. Greek MEP George Papandreou said he considered the meeting useful and underlined that they would be working on a solution that is acceptable to all parties involved.
